Our wings allow us freedom, movement, & communication. Our wings help us sense our environment, respond, and receive. What do I mean when I say "Wings"..... our wing span.... our chest & heart center, upper back, neck, arms & hands. Our capacity to hug! To give & receive. To look & turn towards or away. To reach, grasp, pull. To open or close heart & voice. To high five, or make a fist. To welcome or ward off. This area is so often a place of pain & tension in most bodies. From computer & phone use, to driving & extensive sitting, stress & anxiety, our wing span often feels more constricted than free. There are simple and nourishing movements that we can do daily to help open this beautiful space in our body. Please enjoy this short movement video I created.

The body is a portal. Embodiment is a magic spell. The body is what is here in *this* moment....sensation, breath, the rhythm of heart beat, the rhythm of blood flow. To land in the body is to be able to greet life with more grounded ease, with clarity, with P L E A S U R E. It's important to let emotions move through us.....fear, anxiety, grief, rage....when we practice inhabiting our own bodies, we allow more space for these emotions to through, rather than getting stuck & clogged in our system. Practicing somatic meditation and relaxation is an amazing way to connect with yourself and begin to shift into a more easeful and embodied state. For this meditation you can lie down on the floor (or sit if thats more comfortable). Get yourself cozy, with pillows under your knees and/or head if you need them. |
