I’m Leela — a somatic healing practitioner, grief tender, therapist, bodyworker, and guide with a masters degree in dance/movement therapy and over 15 years of working in the embodied healing arts.

My work is rooted in mindfulness and body-based approaches; I weave together somatic parts work (IFS), EFT/tapping, and expressive arts therapy in order to support folks in healing grief and anxiety, and opening the door to more joy, creativity, and pleasure in life.

I came to this work through my own experiences of anxiety, intrusive thoughts, body dysmorphia, and grief. My journey through the world of embodied healing arts has included completing certifications in therapeutic yoga, massage therapy, somatic parts work, dance/movement therapy, marriage & family therapy, and plant spirit medicine.

My practice is rooted in an anti-oppressive, intersectional queer feminist framework that welcomes people across many different identities and experiences. My approach to healing is deeply systemic and takes into account the systems of oppression that we live within and how they impact our ability to thrive, heal, and connect.

A life long mover, I love contact improvisation, ecstatic dance, and authentic movement. Creative practices are important to me; I write songs, play the guitar, experiment with vocal improv, dabble in ritual theater and clowning. As a gender expansive femme, my preferred pronoun is my name or she/they.

Outside of sessions, you’ll find me wandering in nature, wiggling on a dance floor, researching my latest interest, spending time with loved ones, and trying to befriend every cat I see.
